We are pleased to inform you that the Study Abroad Programme at USM for the (Spring) Semester (February – June) is now open for application. The course offering list for 2nd (Spring) Semester, Academic Session 2014/2015 along with the information on the application procedures are now available on our website (www.usm.my/io).
However, I have developed a new website under my account (hafizal4.wix.com/usm-io) to assist coordinators from partner universities and the exchange students. You also can get updates as well as to download the application forms, health forms and to understand the current visa application procedures. I always update this website from time to time. Kindly click “SERVICES” to download the related documents.
It is to inform you that the deadline of the application is on the 15 October 2014. Kindly send us the nominations and application form via email to:
All original results of the medical check up (urine and blood test, x-ray) have to be attached together with the health forms and can be sent to USM International Office by email (scan version). Students also can conduct the medical check up in USM upon arrival with a fee of MYR 130. However, if the results have some abnormalities in the lung or positive in HIV, drugs etc., the students may face deportation. Note that, students have to test Malaria in their blood test even though Malaria is not a common disease in the respective countries.
I was informed that all future students will receive Professional Pass/Visa as an exchange student not a Student Visa like the current students for this semester. However all visa application process will be made at the HQ of the Malaysian Immigration Department in PUTRAJAYA (500km from USM Penang). In order to avoid delays on student’s arrival, I hope that all complete application documents should be sent to USM International Office before the deadline (15 October 2014).
If you do require any kind of assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Thank you.
